MRI and CT Hardware Failures This shows a problem with the RF Power Amplifier lopping off trailing side lobes of a 180 degree pulse (right). The left pulse is a normal 90 degree pulse. This problem can result in "crosstalk", a condition where this "selective" pulse affects other slices.
Double Echo sequence. Y Gradient component failure (yellow)causing ghosting in all orientations. Normal X Gradient (blue). This problem was repaired to component level.
Each channel has one single axis gaussmeter in Z (vertical) direction. A massive DC (.1-.5 Hertz) 800 mGauss hit (blue) is attenuated (yellow) with an Active Compensation System.
